There will be a weekly reading report on the week's topics, usually due 9am Monday of the following week. Reports should be sent by email, as an attachment to, or copied into, an email message to Dr. Rollinson at rollinsondr@yahoo.com,rollinsondr@hellokitty.com,rollinsondr@mail2world.com

Students who have taken REL 107 as the web-based course, using the same text-book, and who earned a grade of A or B for the course are excused from the Assignments - BUT should write the Essays.
Instead of the weekly Assignments, in addition to the Essays, such students have two extra Term Papers.
Each Paper should be 5 to 10 pages in length. Although these Papers are due at the same time as the Exams, you would be well-advised to start them early and finish them a couple of weeks before their due dates. You may send them in early if you wish :

1. Mid Term Paper, due Midnight, WEDNESDAY, March 5 : Choose some general religious topic, ( eg. prayer, scriptures, religious leaders ) and compare and contrast how Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism deal with this topic.
   This should not be the same topic as your choice for Essay 7
2. Term Paper, due Midnight, Wednesday, May 7 : Write an in-depth study of some religion other than your own.

 

9 am Tuesday, January 22 : Assignment 1 and Essay 1
- one day later because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

 

9 am Monday, January 28 : Assignment 2

 

9 am Monday, February 4 : Assignment 3 and Essay 2

 

9 am Monday, February 11 : Assignment 4

 

9 am Tuesday, February 19 : Assignment 5 and Essay 3
- one day later because of Presidents' Day

 

9 am Monday, February 25 : Assignment 6

 

Midnight, WEDNESDAY, March 5 : Mid Term Exam

There is NO ASSIGNMENT 8

 

9 am Monday, March 10 : Assignment 7 and Essay 4
- one week later because of Midterm Exam

 

9 am Monday, March 17 : Assignment 9

 

9 am Monday, March 31 : Assignment 10 and Essay 5
- one week later because of Spring Break

 

9 am Monday, April 7 : Assignment 11

 

9 am Monday, April 14 : Assignment 12 and Essay 6

 

9 am Monday, April 21 : Assignment 13

 

9 am Monday, April 28 : Assignment 14 and Essay 7

 

9 am Monday, May 5 : Assignment 15

 

Midnight, Wednesday, May 7 : Final Exam

 

Any overdue assignments or essays should be completed and sent in before midnight, Wednesday, May 7
